ACHIEVEMENTS

2005-06

Science:

1.National Children Science Congress: One student Aruna Shukla participated in National Children Science Congress Regional Meet held at Faizabad, UP from 27th November 2005.

 

2. Three students Narendra Kumar, Vikram Singh & Krishna Mohan participated in Science Congress at J.N.V., Sitapur (UP) held from 14th to 19th November 2005.

 

3.Three Students Rahul Kumar, Vikram Singh, Vinay Shukla participated in INTEL-CBSE National Science Quiz at Lucknow on 06th August, 2005.

 

4.46 students (26 Boys & 20 Girls) participated in National Talent Search Examination on 27th November 2005.

 

Computer:

 

13 students of our Vidyalaya participated in National Cyber Olympiad 2005 organized by Science Olympiad Foundation, two students Kamlesh & Pinki won medals, one student Kamlesh Yadav selected for final satge.

 

All teachers are using computer aided presentations for making their teaching more effective and interesting in the SMART CLASS.

 

Games & Sports:

 

Cluster level Athletic meet was organized in the Vidyalaya on 23rd & 24th September 04. Both senior Boys and Girls became Champion in Aryabhatt Cluster bagging 255 points.

 

Regional Football Meet was organized in the Vidyalaya from 26th to 28th September, 2005.

 

One month Coaching Camp was organised from 29th September for Lucknow Region Football Team to take part in National Football Meet held at JNV, Sonitpur, Assam. The team bagged 3rd position at Nationals.

 

96 Players of this Vidyalaya were selected for the Regional Meets in various games, an increase of 100% as compared to previous session.

 

13 players were selected for the National Sports Meet.

 

Two players Ashish Kumar & Durgesh Kumar participated in SGFI (Kabaddi) Meet.

 

Friendly matches with the nearby school teams – Sant Pathik Vidyalaya, Buddha Public School were organized.

 

Exhibition:

 

One model of Science selected for Regional Level Exhibition held at J.N.V., Unnao on 23rd and 24th September 2005.

 

Scout & Guide:

 

Guides (Tritiya Sopan) Camp (Training & Testing) for Governor’s Award (26-30 November, 2005). 147 guides passed Tritiya Sopan Pariksha.

 

Three day camp organized in a nearby Hanumat Higher Secondary School, Maraucha, Bahraich from 21st November to 23rd November 2005.

 

Two girl students Neeti Srivastava & Savita Singh participated in International Meet of Guides held in New Delhi on 11-12 April 2005.

 

Basic Guide Captain Training Camp organized in the Vidyalaya 3-9 April 2005.

 

One boy student Rajendra Kumar Gupta (Scout) participated in National Scout Jamboori Camp held at Haridwar and got the opportunity to meet the Honourable Pesident of India Dr. A. P. J. Abul Kalam.

 

Health & Hygiene:

 

An Eye testing Camp for all students was organized in the Vidyalaya in the month of July and November through District Health Authorities with the help of a Veteran Eye Surgeon Dr. Manohar Singh of Sitapur Eye Hospital.

 

Free glasses to 68 students of the Vidyalaya were distributed with the efforts of Chairman, VMC.

 

Health Check-up Camp for all students in collaboration with District Level Health authorities (CMO) on 14-15th April 2005.

 

JNVST:

 

1. An special meeting of all the District Education Authorities was organised on 08th September 2005 to increase the enrollment for JNVST-2006 under the chairmanship of Nominee Chairman, VMC in which District Inspector of Schools, Zila Basic Shiksha Adhikari, all Associate Zila Basic Shiksha Adhikari were present.

 

2.100% increase in the enrollment for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test-2006 conducted on 12th February 2006.

 

ARSH (Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health) Programme:

 

1.Senior most Teacher Sri Nand Lal of the Vidyalaya was trained at NIEPA, New Delhi as a resource person for ARSH Project of UNESCO to be implemented in the Vidyalayas of Lucknow Region.

 

2.ARSH programme implemented in the Vidyalaya in the month of August 2005.

 

COURSES & WORKSHOPS ORGANISED IN THE VIDYALAYA:

 

Orientation course for teachers of 30 schools of Lucknow Region on Diagnostic Techniques & Remedial Teaching was organised from 17th August to 21st August 2005.

Basic Guide Captain Training Camp organized in the Vidyalaya 3rd to 9th April 2005.

 

Creative Writing Workshop for the students was organized in the month of September.

 

Students of the Vidyalaya represented the Vidyalaya in the Regional Cultural Meet – PRAGYANAM-2005 at Lucknow.

 

ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS Achievements :

 

Extensive mass Plantation Progrmme was organized in which more than 5000 saplings were planted in the Vidyalaya Campus. The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Labour and Employment Sri Waqar Ahmad Shah, Govt. of UP on 09th September 2005 in the presence of the Sri Anurag Srivastava, District Magistrate/ Chairman, VMC, SP, CDO, DFO, and other district level officers. More than 500 students from neighbouring Vidyalayas also actively participated in the said programme.

 

A separate plantation drive for orchard plants by Green Army of the Vidyalaya was organized on 24th November 2005 in which about 125 plants of Mango, Lemon, Kathal (Jackfruit) were planted.

 

The Vidyalaya was covered under the Green School Programme by Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi in which Environmental Audit of the Vidyalaya is going on and expected to be completed by this session.

 

Environmental Education as a compulsory subject was introduced at all levels.

 

DISASTER MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES:

 

Disaster management as a compulsory subject was introduced at Secondary level.

 

Vidyalaya is a part of the District Level Disaster Management Programme.

 

Resource material (teaching aids, CDs, Booklets, Posters etc) provided by the District Disaster Management Group was disseminated among the students.

 

Various projects concerning Disaster Management were taken up by the students.

 

Safety & security measures such as fire extinguishers, at all danger points are installed.

 

IMPLEMENTATION OF RIGHT TO INFORMATION (RTI) ACT:

 

Facts about the act have been made known to all staff members of the Vidyalaya.

 

School Website is to be launched shortly.

 

Vidyalaya Magazine is being published in April 2006.

 

YOUTH PARLIAMENT:

 

Conducted by the students on 29th April 2005. Respected Sh Ranaveer Singh, Ex. MP and Sh. Jata Shankar Singh, MLA (Nanapara, Bahraich), SDM (Sadar), Educationists and other dignitaries of District Bahraich graced the occasion.

 

One student Sudhansu Shekhar Singh secured third position for his participation i n 8th National Youth Parliament.

 

EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION:

 

Students under NVS Migration Scheme (JNV, Nasik, Maharastra) visited the places of Historical & Educational importance (Shrawasti, Ayodhya etc).

 

CCA:

 

CCA programmes conducted in the Vidyalaya as per guidelines of NVS under four heads in each month:

a. Science and Technology :First week of every month

 

b. Communication Skills :Second week of every month

 

c. Information Technology and Team Work :Third week of every month

 

d. Performing Arts :Fourth week of every month

 

Activities:

 

1. A talk by the student on a topic related to the CCA week every day in the morning assembly.

 

2. An inter house competition held on every Saturday afternoon concerning the CCA week.

 

3. Weekly Wall Magazine related to the CCA week on every Monday.

 

Some other ACHIEVEMENT:

 

A Sadbhawana Rally marched by the students along with all the teachers on the Jayanti of Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi.

 

In a National Level Art Competition organized by Navneet Publications, Mumbai two students Sweta Awasthi and Priya Mishra got consolation prizes.

 

Regular Parent Teacher Council Meetings are being conducted.

 

The meeting of Alumni was held on the first Sunday of December-2005. Prominent achievers who were present on this occasion include Sh. Parasmani Tripathi (2001-Batch, Larson & Toubro), Ms. Prastuti (1998 Batch, Hindalco Industries) and Sh. Awadesh Pathak (2000 Batch, Tata Consultancy Services)

 

Special coaching to the students of nearby CBSE affiliated schools by our teachers.

 

Inter House Display Competition on the theme “Achievements of the House during 2004-05” on 25th April 2005.

 

One girl student Umme Kulsum of the Vidyalaya participated in International Children Film Festival held at Hyderabad from 14th to 19th November 2005.

 

Three Students Krishna Gopal, Manoj Kumar, Rakesh Kumar participated in CBSE National Heritage Quiz at Lucknow on 10th September, 2005.

 

District Magistrate / Chairman, VMC honoured the high achievers in the CBSE Examination 2004 & 2005 on 2nd October (Gandhi Jayanti) at collectorate.

 

The Famous Eye Surgeon Dr. Manohar Singh was felicitated by the Vidyalaya for his contribution in organizing Eye Testing Camp in the Vidyalaya.

 

04 INDIA Mark II Hand pumps were installed in the Vidyalaya campus 02 of which were sponsored by Hon’ble Minister of Labour and Employment Sri Waqar Ahmad Shah, Govt. of UP and the other 02 by Hon;ble MLA Sri Arun Veer Singh.

 

Environmental Education & Disaster management introduced as a subject from the session 2005-06.

 

Bio-Technology as an elective subject at +2 level (Only Vidyalaya in Lucknow Region) with students getting 100% Distinction continuously with an average marks of 78.4 and 84.2 respectively for the last two sessions.

 

Physical Education is also available as an elective subject at +2 level.

Science:
 

National Children Science Congress: Two students participated in National Children Science Congress Meet held at Guwahati (Assam) from 27th December 2004 and got the opportunity to meet our honourable president Dr. A. P. J. Abul Kalam.

 

Two students participated in Science Congress at J.N.V. Kanpur held from 17th to 21st November 2004.

 

Adventurous Activities:

 

6 Boys and 4 girls were sent for Pindari Glacier Expedition (02 - 14 May, 2004).

 

One teacher attended Trekking Expedition in the hills of Nainital (Uttaranchal).

 

Computer

 

Six additional computers, two Laser printers, one DeskJet printer, Scanner etc were installed in the existing computer lab.

 

03 students of our Vidyalaya were selected in a District Level Information Technology Aptitude Test organized by Council of Science and Technology, UP & NCSTCE on 23rd January 2005.

 

All teachers completed computer training and appeared for MICROSOFT CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION on 15 Feb. 2005.

 

SMART CLASS was established.

 

Teachers using computer aided presentations for making their teaching more effective and interesting in the SMART CLASS.

 

Under PROJECT CLASS, a 40 days computer literacy programme was organized during summer vacation-2004, in which 40 students of nearby schools Kanya Purva Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Keshwapur; Maa Bhagawati Vidya Niketan, Keshavjipuram and Hanumat Higher Secondary School, Pashupatinagar were trained in our computer lab as a pace setting activity.

 

Exhibition:

 

The model of Mathematics was selected for the National Exhibition at regional level exhibition held at JNV, Kanpur Nagar.

 

Four models were selected for Regional Level Exhibition held at J.N.V Faizabad on 23rd and 24th September 2004. Science and Mathematics got first position. S.U.P.W and S.St got 2nd position.

 

Games & Sports:

48 Players were selected for the Regional Sport Meet.

 

13 players were selected for the National Sports Meet.

Scout & Guide:

 

Guides (Tritiya Sopan) Camp for Governor’s Award (23-27 April, 2004). 20 guides and 12 scouts passed Tritiya Sopan Pariksha.

 

One day camp organized in a nearby village Keshwapur on 10th Febuary 2005.

 

Health & Hygiene:

 

Three doses of Hepatitis-B vaccine were administered to all the students by Rotary Club with the help of District Health Authorities.

 

An Eye testing Camp was organized in the Vidyalaya on I7th and 20th November.

 

Some other Achievements :

 

Regular Parent Teacher Council Meetings were being conducted. In a meeting on 5th December, Laser Printer, Scanner & other computer accessarios donated by parents were inaugurated by Ms Munni Devi, member PTC and the Smart Class was inaugurated by Dr. Y.N.Pathak. Principal J.N.V Lucknow

 

A competitive examination on ecology & environment was conducted on the occasion of National Science Day-28th Febuary 2005 sponsored by Indian Centre for Wildlife & Environment Studies in South Asia Region (ICWESSAR), Jaipur.

 

It was an eventful year (Session 2005-06) for the Vidyalaya in which students got exposure to varied multidimensional fields ranging from Academics to CCA, Sports to International Film Festival, Scout Guide and Health Care Activities, Exhibitions and Information Technology related activities.

 

Not only Officers from the NVS ( Respected Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner sirs, Ex. Engr. Etc.), but also many a dignitaries/ Officials of district Bahraich spared time for these Vidyalaya events and blessed the students and staff members of the Vidyalaya with their valuable suggestions. These include Sri Waqar Ahmad Shah, Hon’ble Minister of Labour and Employment, Govt. of UP, Sri Anurag Srivastava, Hon’ble District Magistrate, Sri R.P.
